It feels&nbsp;cheap but that isn&#8217;t to say that other competitors units now are any better. Few&nbsp;notes straight up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The vent (recirculating\/fresh air) mechanism is a very basic, &nbsp;semi effective pivot lever slide cover.<\/li><li>There is no swing function.<\/li><li>Sliding chassis design<\/li><li>Still heavy at around 25 kg<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jesterroyale.com\/jr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/midea_aircon.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"300\" width=\"169\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jesterroyale.com\/jr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/midea_aircon-169x300.jpg?resize=169%2C300\" alt=\"midea_aircon\" class=\"wp-image-602\"\/><\/a><figcaption>Sliding chassis unit<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Installation<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The main unit slides into a chassis that you first mount. There are pros and cons to it. Just a few thoughts&#8230; Pros:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Helps with install. Slide the unit in after you have positioned the chassis.<\/li><li>Easy to replace if you get the same unit in the future. &nbsp;Slide out, slide new in.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Cons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Makes install difficult. Chassis can bend if you aren&#8217;t careful when installing. And sliding in the unit can be a bit awkward. &nbsp;Saying that, the chassis\/sliding unit is probably an easier install than if it where a one piece unit.<\/li><li>More gaps after install, harder to seal (where the unit and chassis have a gap).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">User Manual<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Couldn&#8217;t find a manual for this model, however after opening up the box and doing some further research , this is the user manual provided: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mideaair.com.au\/docs\/mwh-09k12k_user.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.mideaair.com.au\/docs\/mwh-09k12k_user.pdf<\/a><em>Please note: This manual appears to be for many different models so some of the details directly applies to this model and some doesn&#8217;t.<\/em> This tells me this unit is probably repackaged and sold as a different brand in different places as I don&#8217;t think it even mentions &#8220;Midea&#8221; in the manual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other Notes<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>&nbsp;The supplied remote feels very cheap &#8211; but it does work.<\/li><li>&nbsp;The sleep function is kinda cool &#8211; still not sure how it works exactly but it seems to increase the temp by 1 degree c per hour for 2 hours and then changes the fan to low to make it quiet.
