Went and had a chat with the principal at Trundle school. Small rural town. Some interesting challenges faced out there, things that we wouldn’t even consider in the big city. Bit more playing on Spice Field. Another walk up to the Memorial Lookout.
20230306 Dubbo to Parkes
Had fun trying to pack away the shower tent. Watched a few videos. Was a nice stay. Short drive to Parkes. Stopped at The Dish along the way. Spicer Caravan Park is nice. Good amenities and friendly staff. Frisbee is back in vouge with the kids. Parkes seems like a […]
20230305 Dubbo Zoo
Good zoo. Lots of animals. Can drive around in a car or hire a cart. Cart was good. Bit of mischief around the camp with the neighbours.
20230304 Warrumbungle to Dubbo
Around 2 hour drive (we didn’t go back through Coona – kept heading west from the camping ground). Average fuel 16.3L. There was a new visitor center along the way, Gilgandra, which was officially opened yesterday. Worth a stop. Staying at Red Earth Estate just past the zoo. Place does […]
20230303 Warrumbungle National Park
Went to do some star gazing at Milroy last night. Apparently some German investor bought the old telescope they were going to scrap and set up their own observatory. Today did a few trails, another observatory with the biggest telescope in Australia. Oh, and kids called up someone using a […]
20230301 Warrumbungle
Probably more photos coming. Not the longest trip from Tamworth. One steep hill getting up to the camping spot here in the national park, which is about 40 mins from Coonabarabran. Average fuel from Tamworth was just under 17.5l/100km. Few wild goats around here. Big guys too. Sebby got a […]
20230228 Tamworth – Hillside Farmstay (Bundle Rd)
Chilling around the farm stay and a small bit of sightseeing in Tamworth. Shout out for the open air shower. This is about 15 mins out from Tamworth. The owner of the farm stay is lovely, and the kids loved playing with the cats and dogs and riding their bikes […]
20230227 Coffs Harbour to Tamworth – Dorrigo National Park
About a six hour drive with the few stops we had. The longest being at the Skywalk at Dorrigo. Good little stop to stretch the legs. Going up the range was fine, took it easy and kept an eye on the telemetry. EGT didn’t go over 600 (probably 750 at […]
20230226 – Boambee Creek – Sawtell
Just south of Coffs. Nice little spot. Paddle boarding or a bit of snorkeling in the creek.
