Mon Repos is a little section of protected beach just north of Bargara where turtles come. We tried to nights ago but there were no turtles. Tonight one came up then went back into the water, bit fortunately we were lucky enough to catch another turtle last eggs.
So that was a pretty exciting experience for the kids. They zonked out quick smart when we got home.
Before this we headed to Bundaberg and went to see the Fairymead historic house. One of the first sugar cane plantain houses from a rich family but worked hard to make it work, probably of the back of islanders who were tricked to come with here before machines could do the work.
Then we headed to the Bundaberg brewery. They have a bit of an interactive display and museum I guess followed by a tasting. The kids went to town on the soft drink and bounced most of the afternoon. Nah, they were ok.
Shopped around a bit trying to get the kids a skim board. Went to a lookout, Hummock, before getting home and hitting the beach to try out the new skim with some success.
Then we headed out to Mon Repos. I was expecting a long night like last time but was relatively quick. Think we were out by 7ish. Ranger Elisha got everyone to sing happy birthday again which was lovely for Seb.
