Went for a drive to this site. Very well done but blimey governor, expensive. We do have the three site pass which has now well and truly paid itself off. Went really cause it gets stinking hot around here. There tours in one here, not like there parts to visit. One is a small exhibit they are trying to make, the second part of that is 50 tonnes or 500 tonnes worth of fossilised footprints. That was pretty cool they make some theories on eBay they thought was happening but agree to disagree. Kids were already zoning out by now anyway.
The second part was some bones from a few local dinosaurs that have been found here. Pretty cool seeing what has been dug up around here. Small video presentation went along with the details given by the tour guide. Again, kids have already zoned out. Not sure why we do this to ourselves.
Third tour was the laboratory where they store some of the finds and process them. Kinda cool to see this and it was a bit of a recruitment as they offer the chance of a working holiday down here to help process the fossils. I can see the appeal to this, bit I think it’s all volunteer.
Headed back home and didn’t really know what to do with this 40 degree heat. Went for a quick walk in town but most things were shut so just went for a swim. No driving no jumping no swimming no fun. But reading and making out in the pool is ok.
shower water stinks. We all got to touch real dinosaur bones! How exciting!
