20230929 Katherine Buffalo Hill

Heading out from Kakadu today. Kylie’s family also went back to Brisbane. Bit of a drive back out toward Katherine. Nice little farm stay. Dusty but have us did for fire and had a chat with old mate Chris. Turns out his brother was in the photo from Victoria River road House there the man was driving a city top fj55 cruiser and ramming some cattle! Small world. Also he worked on the Durack farm before it was flooded with the Argyle damn.

We went for a walk to the Katherine River. Bit unsettling having some wild buffalo running through the scrub, but fortunately away from us. There was a croc trap at the bottom, so we just had a quick look and walk home. Otherwise it be nice for a fish and small dip. Kids both found feathers from the tail of a red tailed black cockatoo.

Had a fire and I just chilled there for a bit enjoying some quite. Only one other campers here so it was pretty chilled. Played some guitar under a pretty bright moon. Almost supermoon bright again.

It was a decent walk. Chris reckons 5km return. No wonder I had dirty feet. I showed Kylie and she insisted I use a scrubber. Yeah, it wasn’t a foot tan after all.
