Part of the Bungle Bungles, the other end of it though. Packed up tents and swag and drove for a while. Did a small lookout along the way. Did another lookout from the carpark at echidna. They’re were some little birds that had double rings around their neck. Kylie really wanted to see these guys.
The Echidna Chasm had this thing when the sun comes down around lunch, I don’t know if it is called “dragons breath” or if I heard someone say that, or if I made it up, but I like the name. Pretty stunning. The photos might make the effect of the sun look a little better, but the size of the chasm is not really captured. Fun little walk.
After this, we drove back to the caravan. 4 hours roughly. Corrugation roughly. Kids finished the second audio book of Percy Jackson. Got a massive bullseye chip in the windscreen. Tour buses go flying past and they don’t move over. Think I need a shower. My BO keeps waking me up when the breeze blows throughout the night..
Interestingly, after some other caravaners approached asking about what it’s like getting into the national park, one mentioned he had a Pajero before his landcruisers 200. Said it was no good on corrugation. Think it’s the uni body.
