Driving through Fitzroy Crossing, seeing the flood damaged crossing and the new bridge being built. The servo had everyone caged/boarded up. Even the fuel pumps where protected. Lots of rocks on the roof of the servo as well. Guess the town had a few issues with petty crime. Saying that, we didn’t feel troubled but staying there the night is not an appealing option.
Seb and Mira wanted to buy a man at the front door sometime to eat for his art work.
Anyway driving down the freeway about 20kms from Mimbi turn off, car over took us and got us to open our window. The rear bumper on the caravan had enough of live and we were dragging the bikes down the freeway. Not sure if the Gibbs is solely to blame or if the Gibbs just accelerated the inevitable. One of the bikes was pretty badly damaged and the rear bumper is cactus. Fortunately there was a tip at our next stop so we could chuck out and rearrange some cargo. Some will be recycled by the owners of the caravan site.
We went on a tour of the caves here with Ronny. Another genuine guy. The caves were pretty awesome and the kids enjoyed the little exploration. They played with a snake. We went for a swim in a creek through a tunnel. Pretty cool. We had to get into our undies cause we didn’t bring swimmers. Think I scared off the rest of the tourist cause no one was there when we came out.
When we got home, Seb went and started a fire all by himself. Probably the first time ever. Bit warm hopefully it cools down.
The neighbors let us connect to their Starlink. Fortunate because the cops called me informing me that our car back home may have been involved on some incident at Logan hospital. Random.
