Staff
We had a great experience
dealing with all the staff.
Ebony was the manager and
was prompt when responding
to any questions and concerns
that we had, as well as
available for consultation
during weeknights.
There was plenty of flexibilty
to arange our own wedding the
way we wanted.
Venue
What we loved about the venue:
We had the option to set up
and do some work to save some
coin setting up the tables
and other decorations.
The main hall had a great open
feel that made the live band
and ability for people to get
up and mingle fantastic!
The kicker, bowls!
We werent sure how that was going
to work, but we were suprised how
many people got into the swing of
bowling. Big plus, keep the little
ones entertained!!
Large bar service area and
close to CBD

Hamilton Band
I know this is not part of the bowls club review
but these guys are worth a mention. Saw these
guys at a bar one night, and happened to be
lucky enough to get them to perform for our
wedding. Worth every cent. Compared to other
wedding groups, which can be formed from a
pool of musicians and singers, these guys are
what you see is what you get. Made our night
My Review of these guys here.
Background
Just a quick background to put our wedding needs into perspective.
We wanted a laid back event to be held more as a combined engagement and wedding so we could have more people. That meant we were spreading our money across more people. This venue gave us the option to have value for money without feeling like we were paying extra because it was a wedding. We didnt want to be the center of attention, we wanted to be part of the action! So the bowls club atmosphere worked for us a treat.
To be honest, we spent most of the money on alcohol and the band, probably a third of our expenses.
We werent too keen for allocated seating and being served food. We just wanted to come in, say a few words while an early dinner was underway and get the formalities over and done with. After that it was celebration time!
Worked for us anyway :)
